Vitamin C mse matrix delivers 500mg of vitamin C (625% NRV) per tablet using a patented plant cellulose matrix — the "mse" in the product name stands for this matrix-embedding sustained-release technology, developed by Dr. Enzmann / mse Pharmazeutika in Germany.

Unlike standard vitamin C tablets that release their full dose at once and are largely excreted once blood levels exceed the kidney's reabsorption threshold, this formula embeds vitamin C crystals within a cellulose scaffold. Only the vitamin C on the tablet's surface dissolves at any given moment, so the body is fed a steady supply over roughly 6–8 hours, with elevated plasma levels supported for up to 24 hours after a single dose. This gradual delivery also means less vitamin C is dumped into the gut at once, making it notably gentler on the stomach than conventional high-dose vitamin C.

Vitamin C is a cofactor for the enzymes that build collagen (prolyl and lysyl hydroxylase), supports normal immune cell function, helps regenerate oxidized vitamin E so it can keep protecting cell membranes, and increases the absorption of non-heme iron from food.
