The formula is centered on Spirulina platensis, a microalgae naturally rich in spermidine, a compound found in almost all cells of the body whose concentration declines with age. 

Spermidine, zinc, and vitamin D3 are grouped by the manufacturer under a specific concept: these are described as "mitotropic" substances that occur in the mitochondria — the part of the cell where energy is generated from food — and are therefore also referred to as "Mitoceuticals."
